Ritchey Roo, affectionately known as Richard, is an estimated 5-6 year old boy who truly embodies the phrase "man's best friend." He's a unique blend of laid-back companionship and exuberant joy. While he can be a quiet couch potato, Richard also has a playful, jubilant side that shines through, especially when a leash or the door signals an adventure! He absolutely adores his humans and thrives on affection, wanting nothing more than to be by your side. He's a house-trained fellow who's comfortable doing his own thing when you're away. Be prepared for his enthusiastic greetings, which can include some jumping and a bit of vocalization – his way of letting you know he's excited! Though he's currently a bit on the heavy side at 90 lbs, he's ready to embark on a healthier lifestyle with more activity. He's mastered the "OVER" command for bed-sharing, a testament to his willingness to learn. Richard isn't particularly interested in toys or fetch, but he greatly enjoys car rides and walks, though he does need some leash training as he can be a strong puller. Ultimately, he's happy lounging at home and exploring a fenced yard.
Ideal Home
A home with a fenced yard would be ideal for Richard to enjoy his lounging and exploring. He would thrive as the only spoiled pup in the household, as he seems to do best without the company of other dogs.
Ongoing Health
Richard came to us underweight and has since gained weight. He could benefit from a diet and increased physical activity to reach a healthier weight.
Training & Support
Richard will need some leash training as he can be a strong puller. His jumping and excitement when you have food or a leash in hand can be overwhelming at times, and he can be vocal. However, he has shown an ability to learn, as evidenced by his mastery of the "OVER" command.
