About Gander

I'm Gander, a handsome white and tan terrier mix with a heart full of love and a longing for a stable forever home. My journey started a bit rough, as I was initially a Christmas gift but sadly ended up living in a garage. Eventually, I found my way to the Humane Society of York County as a puppy with a lot of pent-up energy. My estimated birthday is January 2021, and I'm a medium-sized boy, weighing around 45 pounds. Although I was adopted once, I returned to the rescue due to a medical issue with my owner.

The wonderful folks at the Humane Society of York County have been instrumental in my development, providing me with positive-reinforcement training that was missing in my earlier life. They've helped me channel my youthful exuberance and build self-assurance. I've learned some great commands like "sit," "down," and "wait," and I'm diligently working on my loose-leash walking skills. My sleepovers with a favorite volunteer have shown that I truly blossom in a home environment, away from the stresses of the shelter. I'm a pro at pottying outside, a fantastic car rider, and have been wonderful with children! I also enjoy the company of other dogs, love playing with toys, going on hikes, and splashing around in the water. My adventures on the Riverwalk have been particularly memorable! I absolutely adore cuddles and am quite the affectionate companion. I'm a happy, loving boy ready to settle into the stability and security of a forever home where I can continue to learn and grow.
