Hi there! I'm Gretzky, a handsome 40 lb Australian Cattle Dog/Shepard mix born on November 29, 2017. I've been in foster care for a while now, and I've really settled into a good routine. I love waking up and going potty outside, it's one of my favorite times, and I might even give your butt a little friendly nudge to let you know I'm ready! After that, I enjoy lounging on my bed, though I seem to be a magnet for my canine and feline roommates who like to snuggle up with me, even when it's warm. We spend a good part of the day napping and enjoying snacks. My favorite part of the day is when my foster M'mam comes home and we go for walkies! I love to walk, especially in the woods, and I'm happy to do my business on a leash.
When we encounter people on our walks, I can get a bit nervous, and if they try to pet me, I'll try to get away. I can get a little edgy afterward, always wondering if someone might pop out from behind a bush! My foster M'mam sometimes has me go into the bathroom so she can pet me, and while I'm getting used to it, I don't particularly enjoy it. After dinner and some screen time, I get my pill treat and head to bed. Oh, and I do enjoy snack and drinking breaks! Once the lights are out, I'll chug a lot of water, then vomit the extra. I'll often drink the extra off the floor to avoid a mess, which might be why I'm so eager to go potty in the morning! My foster is trying to encourage me to try new things, but it's hard. I need someone patient who understands I might not be up for too much. I promise I won't ask for much in return, just walks and a safe, protected feeling.
Ideal Home
I would thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard and another dog to keep me company. If you can pretend I don't exist, I'm also good with kids.
Ongoing Health
I take a pill treat daily. I also tend to drink a lot of water before bed, sometimes vomiting the extra and then drinking it off the floor.
