Meet Django!
Django is a bright, two-year-old mixed breed with a sleek black coat and white accents. He's a medium-sized boy at about 50 pounds, and he's a smart, active companion who builds deep bonds with his people. He celebrates your return home like it's the best moment of the day! Django is the kind of dog who thrives when he has both connection and purpose. He loves to cuddle with the people he trusts, often leaning close for affection or curling up for a cozy nap. His adventurous side shines when he's playing with his favorite toys, whether it's balls, sticks, or frisbees. He enjoys walks, runs, and swimming, and he proudly carries a stick or ball during walks. Django is intelligent and enjoys training, already knowing many cues. Practicing these skills with positive reinforcement keeps his mind engaged and happy.
Ideal Home
Django would thrive in a quieter, child-free and cat-free home, likely as the only dog. He needs an active family who understands reactive dogs and enjoys training.
Ongoing Health
Django currently takes daily Fluoxetine to help manage anxiety.
Training & Support
Django experiences fear-based reactivity in certain situations, such as unfamiliar noises, unexpected distractions, or dogs encountered on leash. He requires thoughtful management in public and benefits from a predictable routine and continued behavior support. He also has a history of resource guarding with other dogs around food, toys, or personal space, and there was one minor nip incident involving an unfamiliar person. Meeting guests outside first and allowing him to warm up helps him feel secure. With structure, exercise, and patient guidance, he continues to grow in confidence!
