Nira is a thoughtful heart and chase queen! She's currently enjoying life in a loving foster home, where she's proven to be both house and crate trained. Nira has seamlessly integrated into her foster family, which includes dogs and children, and has been a delightful addition, always ready for playtime or a good snuggle. Nira is a gentle soul who may take a moment to warm up to new people. Once she feels safe and secure, her loving and playful personality truly shines through. She's not one to rush into things, preferring to observe before offering her full, loving commitment. But when she does, you'll know you've found a special bond.

She's a dog who truly thrives with canine companionship. Her confidence blossoms when another dog is around, allowing her to relax and be her true self. She enjoys chase-style play and exhibits what appear to be herding instincts when a good game of chase is on. While she can get a little vocal during play, it's all in good fun! Nira would do wonderfully with a medium-energy, playful dog who can keep the fun going. She's also perfectly happy entertaining herself with her favorite toys, especially stuffies, but truly, any toy is a win in her book!

When it comes to people, Nira benefits from calm and patient introductions. New environments and unfamiliar faces can be a bit overwhelming for her initially, so she'll do best in a quieter home that understands the importance of slow trust-building. Once she bonds with you, she'll seek affection, happily engage with you, and jump up for love. Treats are a fantastic motivator for Nira, helping her feel comfortable and confident, so be sure to stock up!

Ideal Home

Nira would thrive in a home with a yard, another dog, and adopters who are patient, consistent, and respectful of her need for personal space. She is not suited for apartment or city living and would prefer a homebody lifestyle rather than one with frequent outings or social events. Kids and family life are welcome, as she adores the 11 and 13-year-olds she lives with. Nira must be in a cat-free home, as she has a tendency to chase cats, even though her intentions are playful, the cats do not reciprocate.

Ongoing Health

Nira is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and on monthly heartworm prevention.

Training & Support

Nira is house and crate trained. She can get vocal when playing and has a strong chase drive, especially towards cats.

Transportation

Nira is located in Texas and can be transported to select drop-off locations across the US and Canada. A $87 surcharge applies due to transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
