Meet Sequoia, a nine-month-old Malamute/German Shepherd mix weighing 60 pounds. Sequoia's journey has been a challenging one; she arrived with her companions after being rescued by Animal Control. She bore a significant wound on her inner thigh, which has since healed remarkably well, but the emotional scars are still mending. It's evident that Sequoia has had limited exposure to the world around her. New experiences, like walks on a leash, meeting unfamiliar people, and exploring different environments, are all novel to her. She can be a bit skittish and hesitant, but beneath that uncertainty lies a remarkably sweet and gentle soul yearning to connect and trust. Sequoia has a kind disposition and has always been good-natured; she simply needs guidance to understand what to expect. She is not yet leash-trained and will require an adopter who is patient and understands that building confidence is a process that takes time. Every small step forward is a significant achievement for her. With affection, consistency, and gentle socialization, we are confident Sequoia will flourish into the wonderful companion she is destined to be. If you can offer a peaceful home and the patience for her to learn at her own pace, you will have the immense reward of watching this deserving girl discover that the world can indeed be a safe and joyful place. Could you be the one to offer Sequoia the fresh start she so deserves?
