Zac is a handsome 5-year-old, neutered Anatolian Shepherd mix who weighs about 60 pounds. He was rescued from a county shelter and, after an examination, it was discovered he needed FHO surgery on a rear leg due to an old, untreated injury. This surgery is now complete, and Zac has healed wonderfully, with no further medical intervention or medication needed. He's a loyal companion with a great balance of playfulness and a desire to relax with his people. Zac enjoys the company of other dogs, showing excellent manners and respecting their cues. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and loves a good treat to go into his kennel. Zac thrives on human companionship and adores receiving attention and belly rubs. He can be quite the conversationalist, especially if dinner is delayed! While he hasn't been around young children, he has met new people well and is comfortable in the car. He enjoys toys, treats, and has shown no signs of resource guarding.
Ideal Home
Zac would thrive in a home where he won't be left alone for long periods. He enjoys having other dogs around and seems happiest when he has canine company or his people are nearby to share his life with. He would do well with a family or a single adopter who is looking for a devoted dog to shower with love and companionship.
Ongoing Health
Zac has fully recovered from his FHO surgery and requires no ongoing medical care or medication.
Training & Support
Zac is house-trained and crate-trained. He would benefit from continued training to help him learn not to jump up when excited.
