Gustav is a 3½-year-old terrier/Lab mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for fun! He’s very dog-friendly and thrives in playgroups, where he loves to romp around with his canine pals. His favorite game is pretending to play fetch—he’s all about the chase, even if the “bringing the ball back” part still hasn’t clicked. Gustav is a goofy, chunky boy who adores snacks (maybe a little too much). Interactive toys are his jam… at least until he gets too hangry—then all brain power disappears, and he’ll let you know with dramatic whining and cries of disapproval. He’s been blessed to get a second chance in life and is excited to start his next journey with you!
Ideal Home
Gustav loves to play and would thrive in a home where he has opportunities for fun and socialization, especially with other dogs. He really enjoys interactive toys.
Ongoing Health
All vetting, including DAPP, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, spay/neuter, flea prevention, heartworm testing and prevention, and micro-chipping, has been completed.
Training & Support
Gustav is still working on the "bringing the ball back" part of fetch. He can get hangry, and his focus and behavior can change quickly when he's hungry, often resulting in dramatic whining. Interactive toys are great, but be aware of his need for snacks! Our team has worked on behavior and provided social enrichment, including playgroups and one-on-one bonding time, and we believe he will be well on his way to being the best dog he can be with continued understanding and training efforts.

Transporation
Gustav is available for transportation to predetermined locations in VA, PA, CT, VT, NY, UT, ID, OR, TX, WA, TN, KY, IN, IL, WI, MN & OH. Private custom transport routes and destinations are available upon request. Adoption and transportation fees range from $100-500. He can also be picked up at our Angleton, TX location for a $75 fee, which includes all vetting. Our transport vehicles are equipped with air conditioning for comfort, and onboard attendants provide 24-hour care. You can follow along on his journey through a private Facebook Event page.
