Emma

Emma is an adorable Akbash puppy, born on a ranch in Central Texas. She's one of six puppies born to Victoria, an Akbash mom, and likely sired by an Akbash or Great Pyrenees. Emma grew up surrounded by goats and longhorn cattle, with multiple working livestock guardian dogs on the ranch. This upbringing means she has the potential to be a wonderful livestock guardian herself, or a loving family pet.

Ideal Home

Emma can be adopted as a family pet or as a future livestock guardian. She will need ongoing training and supervision, whether that's crate and potty training for a family companion, or helping her understand that livestock are not playmates if she's in a guardian role. Emma has not been exposed to chickens but has had some exposure to barn cats and would require proper introductions and supervision if living with house cats.

Ongoing Health

Emma has received 3 rounds of vaccinations, deworming, and monthly preventatives. As per Texas law, all puppies are spayed/neutered within a certain timeframe. Emma can be adopted on a provisional agreement that is finalized once the sterilization procedure is complete.

Training & Support

Emma will benefit from consistent training and socialization. If being trained as a livestock guardian, she'll need guidance to learn appropriate interactions with farm animals. For a family pet, standard puppy training like house-training and crate-training will be important.
