Meet Shrek, a charming and resilient adult male dog with a heart of gold and a unique story to tell. Once a stray navigating the streets, Shrek was discovered by compassionate neighbors who recognized his need for help. Thanks to their quick thinking, he was brought to our rescue, where he received the care he desperately needed. Shrek is a truly sweet boy, a bit of an "ogre" in appearance with his loving nature. Life on the streets took its toll, leaving him with an old, improperly healed broken leg. This caused him daily pain until our rescue team determined the best course of action was amputation. Now, Shrek is a healthy and happy tripod, free from pain and ready for his forever home. He's a large, mixed-breed dog, primarily Hound and Anatolian Shepherd, with a medium coat and a loving, playful, and curious spirit. He's also known to be affectionate, independent, and a bit of a couch potato.

Ideal Home

Shrek is looking for a loving family who will cherish him for the rest of his days. He's been noted as good with kids and dogs, but his interactions with cats are unknown.

Ongoing Health

Shrek has undergone amputation of a hind leg due to an old, improperly healed fracture. He is now pain-free and considered healthy.

Training & Support

Shrek is house-trained and crate-trained. He's also described as good with dogs and kids.

Transportation

Shrek is currently located in Memphis, TN. For local adoptions within Texas, the fee is $200. For out-of-state adoptions, the fee is $450, which includes transport to your area.
