Sadie is a 3-year-old Terrier/Border Collie mix looking for a family that views pets as true family members. She has been waiting to find her person since June 2023, but don't let her long stay fool you – she is an absolute professional in a home. Having recently spent two weeks in a foster home, Sadie proved she is the definition of "low-maintenance." She had zero accidents, is remarkably calm, and knows how to "mind her business" while you go about your day.
If you're looking for a dog that isn't constantly underfoot but still wants to be your shadow, Sadie is your girl. She isn't a "velcro" snuggler; she prefers to find a cozy spot nearby just to keep an eye on you. She's observant and naturally alert, making her an excellent guard/alert dog for her family. When it's time for bed, Sadie doesn't need to be told. She walks right into her crate and settles in for the night. She is a dream on walks, no pulling or chaos here! Sadie is highly food-motivated, which makes training a breeze.
Ideal Home
Sadie would do best with children ages 5 and up who can respect her independent nature. She enjoys the company of other dogs, preferably males, and while she is social, she likes to be the "boss" of the pack at times. She would thrive in a household that appreciates a calm, chill dog who offers loyalty without needing constant physical affection.
Ongoing Health
Sadie is heartworm positive. She has been spayed, vaccinated (Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella), dewormed, microchipped, and is on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. A health certificate, exam, and fecal test will be performed less than 10 days prior to transport.
Training & Support
Sadie is a crate queen and a leash pro. Her food motivation makes her a joy to train.
