Meet Ty!
Ty is a 6-year-old Weimaraner/American Foxhound mix with a heart full of love and a zest for life. He's a big guy, weighing around 70lbs, but he's light on his feet and always ready for an adventure. Ty has a smile that lights up his face when he's excited, which is often! He's playful with people and other dogs, and has been doing wonderfully in his foster home.
Ideal Home
Ty would do best with female pups or male dogs smaller than him. He's a great match for families with active kids or could be the perfect adventure partner for an active single person or couple. Ty loves to be included in all family activities, from hikes and car rides to just relaxing with his people. A securely fenced backyard is a must for this outdoorsy guy. An adopter experienced with large dogs is a plus.
Ongoing Health
Ty is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and is microchipped. He has been cleared by a veterinarian for transport.
Training & Support
Ty is crate-trained, house-trained, and doggie-door savvy. He walks well on a leash, but his hound nose can sometimes lead him astray when he catches an interesting scent. Continued leash training will help him stay focused on the walk. He knows how to sit on command and is eager to learn more!

Transporation
Ty is currently in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. For out-of-town adopters, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. Our transports run every 2-3 weeks. We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions. The adoption fee includes transport to the city on this listing.
