Buddy

Buddy is estimated to be 4-5 years old, but don't let his age fool you – he's got the playful, excited energy of a puppy! Buddy can be a little over-the-top when he first meets new people and dogs, but he settles down after a few minutes. He participated in the Hounds of Prison Education (HOPE) training program and received dedicated one-on-one attention, but his mouthy behavior led to his early departure. He's currently in a foster home, eagerly awaiting his forever family.

Ideal Home

Buddy's energy level might make him a less-than-ideal fit for homes with young children. He's also still learning how to interact with cats and may not be the best fit for a home with feline friends, as he seems either unaware of them or overly excited to make new ones. He does well with other dogs in his foster home.

Ongoing Health

Buddy tested positive for heartworm when he was found as a stray in 2023. He completed his treatment successfully and is now heartworm-free! He is up-to-date on all veterinary care and is housebroken.

Training & Support

Buddy's foster mom, who is a dog trainer, is continuing his education. Even though he left the HOPE program early, he comes with FREE lifetime training support in his forever home!

Transportation

Buddy is located in Camp Hill, PA. CPAA prefers adopters to be within one hour of Camp Hill, PA, but other applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
