Artie

Artie and his siblings came to us when their owner passed away. He is a 10-year-old, 15 lb Corgi mix who is mostly blind but navigates new environments well. Artie has spent the last three months with a foster family, where he's proven to be exceptionally low-maintenance and easy-going. He enjoys burrowing under blankets, venturing out for meals and potty breaks, and generally keeps to himself, making him a gem for someone seeking a calm companion. He knows his name and can even "camouflage" himself under blankets, earning him the nickname "Camo." He's content with quiet companionship and doesn't ask for much, making him a great option for a first-time dog owner or someone who appreciates a less clingy friend.

Ideal Home

Artie would do best in a home without young children, as he can be startled and dislikes being pulled on.

Ongoing Health

Artie has very limited vision.

Training & Support

Artie is house-trained and will alert you when he needs to go out by going to the door, scratching, or barking. He does well in the car and walks short distances with a harness. He does not climb stairs. While he lives with other dogs and generally does well, he prefers not to have dogs get in his face or jump in his bed. He has been fed separately from other dogs to ensure he has his space. Artie exhibits no separation anxiety when left alone.
