Meet Muney 🐾💛

Muney is one of two small dogs found abandoned in the desert off 700 North outside Jerome. Left on their own in a harsh area where domestic dogs rarely survive long, they were incredibly lucky to be found before becoming prey for coyotes or owls. Thankfully, Muney is now safe and beginning to learn what life in a loving home looks like. Muney arrived with another small dog, and while they get along well, they do not appear to be dependent on each other and can be adopted separately. Muney is believed to be a Yorki and/or Shih Tzu mix, giving her a small size and adorable look to match her sweet personality. She is shy but very affectionate once she feels safe, loves to cuddle with her people, and can be vocal to alert you to activity.

Ideal Home

Muney is still timid and learning to trust after her difficult start. She may run away when someone first tries to pick her up, but once she’s handled she settles in and enjoys affection. She can be nervous around larger dogs, especially if they crowd her space, so a calm home with respectful dogs (or as the only dog) would likely suit her best. Muney has shown a strong prey drive with small animals and recently attacked baby chicks in her foster home. Because of this, she will need a home without poultry or other small animals.

Ongoing Health

Muney is believed to be a Yorki / Shih Tzu mix. She was recently groomed, brushed, nails trimmed, and mats removed.

Muney is still learning basic commands and building confidence in new situations.
