Meet Michelle! This adorable 3-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix is about 48 pounds and ready to shower her new family with affection. She's a resilient girl who was rescued from a high-kill shelter and is now thriving in a foster home in Houston, Texas, eagerly awaiting her forever family.
Michelle is a social butterfly who adores other dogs, enjoying playtime and cozy naps with her foster siblings. While she can get a little enthusiastic during play, she's quick to read her friends' cues and adjust. She has a good balance of energy for outdoor fun and a mellow nature for indoor lounging, making her a happy and adaptable companion.
Ideal Home
Michelle has met children 8 and up and has been sweet and loving. However, due to her enthusiastic jumping when excited, a home with children 12+ or dog-savvy teens would be ideal. She would also thrive in a home with another friendly dog.
Ongoing Health
Michelle is a healthy girl ready for adoption.
Training & Support
Michelle is a smart cookie who is highly food-motivated and learns quickly. She's already housebroken and crate trained, even choosing to rest in her crate during the day. While she's working on her manners, she can be a bit sneaky with food, so separate feeding and guidance are recommended. She responds well to redirection. She also loves to chew, especially outdoor finds, so providing appropriate chew toys and supervision is key. She's an escape artist and can scale fences, so a secure yard or consistent leash walks are a must. Continued leash training will help her improve her pulling.
