Meet Mia, a 3.5-year-old, spayed female, Pitbull/Retriever mix with a heart full of love and a passion for playtime! Mia was recently returned to our care through no fault of her own. She previously lived with her foster dad in the US for over a year and is described as a happy girl who loves to snuggle and wants to please. She rides great in the car and her favorite game is "chase me and try to get my stick," where any piece of wood quickly becomes her prized possession. Mia is the perfect companion for an active family who enjoys walks, outdoor adventures, and lots of playtime. She gets along well with other dogs and brings a joyful, silly energy wherever she goes. If you're looking for a loyal, playful, and slightly royal pup to share your adventures, Mia is ready to rule your heart.
Ideal Home
Mia is looking for an active family who enjoys walks and outdoor adventures. She would love a home with room to run and, ideally, a dedicated pile of branches just for her! While Mia is friendly with females, she does bark when meeting new men, which is believed to be fear-based. She has been working on building her confidence, and a patient owner who can continue this work would be wonderful.
Ongoing Health
Mia has no known ongoing health conditions.
Training & Support
Mia pulls when walking and would benefit from some leash training. She also barks when meeting new men due to confidence issues. Our team has worked with a trainer who provided tools to help build her confidence, and continued positive reinforcement will be key to her success.
