Amara is a beautiful, sleek cream-colored female Hound/Lab mix with a distinctive brindle mask. She weighs about 50lbs and was born around 2020. Amara and her companion, Mila, were found on a bridge, frightened and darting in and out of traffic, indicating they were likely abandoned. Thankfully, a kind person stopped to help them. Amara was thin and had wounds, but with a healthy diet, complete medical care, and a safe environment, she has blossomed.
Amara is described as friendly, resourceful, and smart, much like a fox. She enjoys interacting with humans and has a special bond with her canine friend, Mila. While they arrived together, Amara is now considered to be better suited for a home without Mila. She enjoys leash walks with volunteers and loves to play tag or tug-of-war before settling down for a nap in the sun. More recently, Amara has been described as calm, quiet, gentle, and well-balanced. She is a limp leash walker and has shown comfort in busy office environments. She is polite, happy to sit for a snack, and has an adorable coiled tail. Amara is looking for her first meaningful pet employment in a stable, loving home.
Ideal Home
Amara would thrive in a stable home with kind, patient humans who can provide top-notch care. She needs a warm bed, a fenced yard to run in, and daily leash walks to satisfy her need to explore.
Ongoing Health
Amara arrived with open and healed wounds and was very thin. She has received a healthy diet and complete medical care, and is now healthy.
Training & Support
Amara is a proficient leash walker. She has adapted well to various environments and people coming and going. She is polite and will sit for a snack.
