Hula Hoop

Meet Hula Hoop! This sweet girl came to us from a hoarding situation where she was sadly neglected and quite overweight. She was nearly 28 lbs, and her shape truly resembled a hula hoop! After a long and gradual weight loss journey, she's now a svelte 12.8 lbs and no longer hula hoop shaped! Her bloodwork is perfectly healthy. We believe Hula is a Miniature Pinscher mix, around 9 years old. She's been spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and is completely potty trained. She is more than ready for her new name and her new forever home! These days, she goes by "Hula," and she's looking for a patient adopter who can help her build trust. She can be a bit slow to warm up, but once she decides she loves you, she'll greet you with a smile and her entire body will wag with joy! She's so eager to give and receive love and find a place to call her own.

Ideal Home

Hula is looking for a special person to be their everything. She seems to prefer female humans over males. Due to damage to her forearms/wrists from years of neglect, she should not be expected to go on long leashed walks and would thrive in a home with a fenced yard. She does well with other dogs but would prefer a forever home without cats.

Ongoing Health

Hula has made a fantastic recovery and her bloodwork is now perfectly healthy!

Training & Support

Hula is fully potty trained. She can be slow to warm up to new people, but is very affectionate once she trusts you. Patience and gentle encouragement will be key to helping her settle in.
