Last Hope is seeking experienced puppy fosters to welcome a litter of adorable pups into their homes! These little ones are full of energy and love, and while they require commitment from the whole family, the rewards are immense. You'll start with a couple of 10-12 week old puppies and gradually have the opportunity to foster younger pups and larger litters as you gain experience. Last Hope will provide all the puppy food, crates, and toys your fosters will need. You'll be asked to provide towels, cleaning supplies, and newspapers. These energetic pups are looking for a place to play where they can romp and play without carpet. A fenced-in yard area is also a must for their playtime. Be prepared for early mornings and perhaps some late nights, but know that the joy these puppies bring is well worth it! Families with school-aged children often make wonderful fosters, as they can actively help with socialization and playtime. These puppies typically range from 10 to 20 pounds each and will be transferred to another foster home as they grow closer to full size. You'll be a vital part of their journey to a forever home, as you'll be required to bring your foster puppies to our adoption days every other Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm at the Apple Valley Petco. On average, puppies spend about three weeks in a foster home before finding their perfect match. If you have a soft spot for puppies, or even have a resident dog who would love a temporary playmate (with no extra vet expenses!), please reach out to Last Hope right away. All resident dogs in your home must be spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and have the Bordetella vaccine for kennel cough. Should you happen to fall in love with one of your foster pups, the listed adoption fee would apply.
Ideal Home
This foster opportunity is best suited for experienced individuals or families who can dedicate time and attention to raising young puppies. The entire family should be on board and willing to participate in their care and socialization. A home with a designated play area without carpet and a fenced-in yard is essential. Families with school-aged children are particularly encouraged, as they can greatly contribute to the puppies' socialization.
