Big Mama is an affectionate, athletic, adventure-loving 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier mix who enjoys going on walks and meeting new people! She was found weighing over 70lbs but has since reached a healthier weight of around 60lbs. Big Mama was discovered lying in the middle of a road before a kind couple rescued her. Unfortunately, due to their existing pup's poor interaction with other dogs and lacking a plan for Big Mama, she was taken to the local shelter. As a pittie mix, she was placed on the euthanasia list after her stray hold expired. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of her finders, we were alerted to Big Mama's situation and brought her to safety! She is incredibly people-friendly and loves to cuddle. Be prepared for a spirited companion, as she can sometimes be unaware of her size when she gets zoomies! Even with her past weight challenges, this girl has plenty of energy and loves to play. She enjoys lounging indoors but is ready for action once she's outside.
Ideal Home
Big Mama has done well with most dogs she's met, particularly medium to large-sized male dogs. She can be assertive with female dogs, so a home with only male dogs would be ideal. While she enjoys canine companionship, she doesn't require a doggy sibling to be happy. Due to her energy and size, she should go to a home without young children.
Ongoing Health
No specific health concerns are mentioned.
