Dougie Mac is a pittie mix, approximately 3 years old and weighing about 55 lbs. He's got that perfect combination of squishy chunk and lean muscle, ideal for both cuddles and adventures. As with any rescue, his exact breed and age are a mystery, but one thing is for sure: he's a wonderful dog!

Ideal Home

Dougie Mac is a social butterfly who thrives on adventure and loves people, including kids! He'd be a fantastic companion for hikes, beach trips, or just hanging out at a brewery or park. He's also happy to be the friendly co-host of backyard BBQs. While he loves to be social, Dougie also appreciates downtime and quiet moments. He's the dog that can do it all – fun social butterfly and cuddle buddy rolled into one. He is very dog-friendly and enjoys playing with other dogs, but he's also respectful if they're not in the mood to play. He's confident enough not to need another dog in the home, but would do well with a dog that can match his playfulness and chill vibe. Dougie met the resident cat, Biggie, respectfully and showed no signs of chasing. He was comfortable with the cat's behavior, and the cat seemed comfortable with him. A sleepover with a cat can be arranged upon request to ensure a good match. Dougie would be happiest in a home with a backyard where he can explore, play with his favorite squeaky toys, and enjoy his love for water, whether it's a kiddie pool or a muddy puddle!

Training & Support

Dougie Mac is a smarty pants who loves treats and is eager to please! He already knows how to sit and responds well to corrections from his handlers. He's fairly easy to walk on a leash, though he may pull initially out of excitement – a simple leash correction is all it takes to remind him to walk like a gentleman. He is potty trained, is working on crate training, and has shown great house manners. His eagerness to learn means that any additional training you wish to do with him will be a breeze and enjoyable for both of you.
