This handsome boy is Payaso, a Siberian Husky and Shepherd mix with a heart of gold! He's around 4 years old and weighs about 68 lbs, with a stature that makes him a real gentle giant. Payaso came to us from a difficult situation where he experienced neglect, which meant he was underweight and his coat was stained and a bit stinky. But don't worry, with some love, good food, and care, he's already on his way to a full glow-up! He's a dog who will truly attach to his person and become an incredibly loyal companion.

Ideal Home

Payaso would thrive with a guardian who has experience with husky and shepherd breeds. He needs someone patient who understands that he can be a little reserved with strangers and doesn't love invasive handling (like nail trims) initially. Once he trusts you, he's a total sweetheart! He got along well with a large female dog and previously lived with a large male dog. However, he was a bit unsure around a small dog, possibly due to inexperience or prey drive. Because of this, he's not a "dog park dog" and will need a family who can carefully manage his interactions with other animals as he continues to learn.

Ongoing Health

Payaso is neutered. He arrived underweight and with a stained coat due to past neglect, but he is recovering well with proper care and nutrition.

Training & Support

Payaso can be a bit aloof with strangers and sensitive to handling when he first meets new people. Building trust and working through a bonding period with patience is key. His interactions with other dogs need careful management, especially with smaller dogs, due to potential prey drive or inexperience. Previous breed-specific experience will be very beneficial.
