Nide is a 3.5-year-old sweetheart with a big heart, weighing in at 50 lbs. She’s a master of the couch cuddle after a good play session in the yard, where she enjoys chasing squirrels and playing fetch (though returning the ball is still a work in progress!). Nide knows a variety of commands like "sit," "lay," "down," and "come," and is highly food-motivated, so learning new things with treats is a breeze. She enjoys a good nap in her kennel, which she also uses for sleeping at night and during the day when her human is at work. Nide does well in car rides, though she occasionally tries to sneak into the front seat. She is house-trained and can hold it for 4-5 hours during the day.
Nide’s journey has been a bit of a rollercoaster. She was originally rescued from a kill shelter and later sent for adoption, where she unfortunately had negative experiences with cats that made her cautious around new situations and people. However, with patience, consistency, and a calm approach, Nide warms up beautifully and reveals her sweet, affectionate, and cuddly personality. She thrives in a stable environment with a predictable routine and clear expectations, as changes can make her a bit anxious. Nide can also be quite vocal and isn't afraid to express herself! Her favorite activities include playing tug-of-war and chasing balls.
Ideal Home
Nide does well with older children. Her interactions with cats are unknown. She lives with another dog and enjoys playing with her, but when meeting new dogs, she may need slow, patient introductions before she feels comfortable. A home that understands her past experiences and is willing to let her build trust at her own pace would be ideal.
