If you know Heelers, you already know Lenny is the total package: smart, athletic, loyal, and just mischievous enough to keep you smiling every single day. Lenny's story started the way far too many in Texas do. He found himself needing a fresh start at a young age, but thankfully his luck changed when he was welcomed into foster care. Now this happy, thriving pup is ready to find the forever family he's been waiting for.
At just 1 year old, Lenny is everything you'd expect from a young Heeler. He's curious, energetic, incredibly intelligent, and always ready for his next adventure. He loves to stay busy or at least think he has an important job to do. Whether it's hiking, playing fetch, learning new tricks, exploring the neighborhood, or simply following his favorite people from room to room, he's happiest when he's included. He bonds quickly with his people and is the kind of dog who will happily become your loyal sidekick through every adventure. As a young adult, Lenny has moved beyond the tiny puppy stage but still has plenty of playful energy. After an active day, Lenny is more than happy to curl up for snuggles with his favorite humans.
Ideal Home
Lenny is looking for an active home that understands the needs of his breed and is excited to help him continue growing into the amazing companion he's meant to be. He'd be happy to have another playful dog in his forever home, though it's not a requirement as long as he gets plenty of exercise, enrichment, and socialization. We do not know how he does with cats.

Lenny is eager to learn, highly food motivated, and incredibly bright, making training both fun and rewarding.
