About Loki

Loki is a spirited 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix with an estimated DOB of January 2026. Weighing around 40 pounds, he's expected to grow into a large dog, much like his mom, Wanda, who is about 55 pounds. Loki was rescued with his littermates from a rural area known for animal abandonment and is now thriving in a loving foster home in Houston, Texas. He's a bold, curious pup who leads the way in exploring new things and loves to play, especially a lively game of keep-away with his favorite toys. While he's a champion climber and enjoys "furniture parkour," he also has a sweet, cuddly side and loves to snuggle after a day of adventure. Loki is potty trained and generally good in his crate, though he's not crated for extended periods due to his age. He's friendly with people and other dogs, and has enjoyed meeting children.

Ideal Home

Loki would thrive in a home that can provide him with ongoing socialization, positive reinforcement, and consistency to help him mature into a confident, well-balanced dog. We prefer homes that already have another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor Loki. If you don't have another dog, we'd love to hear your plan for continued socialization, such as structured training classes, supervised daycare, or regular playdates. Because Loki is still young, we prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.

Ongoing Health

Loki is a healthy young dog.

Training & Support

Loki is potty trained, but some accidents may occur as he adjusts to a new routine. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs is crucial for building lifelong confidence.
