Sweet 10-year-old Bandita is looking for a loving home after losing her special person. She was a "daddy's girl" who loved sleeping in bed beside him, cuddling close, and enjoying all the love and treats he happily spoiled her with. Bandita weighs about 12 lbs. and is very food motivated - snacks are definitely the way to her heart! She's a laid-back companion who enjoys exploring the backyard, sharing cozy nighttime cuddles, and eating a yummy meal. Bandita gets along well with other dogs and lived with multiple dogs throughout her life. She was comfortable around visiting family dogs and previously shared her home with another dog until a couple of years ago. Bandita went on a two-week Frosted Fling, giving us the chance to learn even more about this sweet girl in a home environment. She can be shy around new people and takes time to build trust, but her foster mom described it as a pleasure watching her become more comfortable and confident each day. Once she feels safe, she is very affectionate and enjoys cuddling with her people. She sleeps soundly through the night, walks nicely on leash, and has a healthy appetite. In her foster home, Bandita coexisted peacefully with a resident cat, mostly choosing to simply sniff and ignore him. Bandita did wonderfully at a picnic, happily wagging her tail and showing interest in socializing with other dogs, especially those close to her size. She was not intimidated by other dogs and seemed to enjoy their company. Bandita is a gentle, loyal dog who blossoms when given time, patience, and understanding. If you're looking for a devoted companion and are willing to let her move at her own pace, Bandita may be the perfect match for you.
Ideal Home
Bandita can be shy around new people and takes time to build trust. She is affectionate and enjoys cuddling once she feels safe. She coexisted peacefully with a resident cat, mostly choosing to simply sniff and ignore him. Bandita gets along well with other dogs and enjoyed socializing with them at a picnic.
Ongoing Health
Bandita is currently working on shedding a few extra pounds.
