Introducing Grover Chillington!

Grover's journey began at a high-kill shelter in Houston, where he was unfortunately placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, a wonderful foster family stepped in, recognizing his incredible potential. Grover is, in a word, perfection! He truly embodies "chill" – so much so that initial estimates placed his age at 6 years old. However, multiple veterinary assessments suggest he's likely between 2-3 years old, and definitely no older than 3. Weighing in at around 48 pounds, he's the ideal medium size. Grover is a wonderfully good boy with an old soul.

He thrives on companionship and is happiest when he's part of the family's activities, whether that's lounging in the backyard, accompanying you on neighborhood strolls, or napping in the coziest spot. While he enjoys exploring the outdoors, he's not a high-energy athlete. A couple of daily walks and quality time with his humans are all he needs to be content. His foster family, who live on a farm, have found that even with the freedom of the property, Grover stays close to his foster dad, proving he's just as well-behaved off-leash as he is on.

Grover is fully house-trained and exhibits excellent indoor manners. He settles down nicely, gets along with everyone he meets, is not destructive, and appreciates a comfortable bed after a day of fun. His ideal forever home would offer plenty of affection, a soft place to sleep, and people who cherish having a devoted canine companion by their side. He can be a bit shy initially, but within minutes, he'll be rolling over for belly rubs.

Grover has a history of doing well with other dogs and farm animals, and he enjoys meeting new friends. His gentle, friendly nature quickly wins over both people and animals with his charming personality. We suspect he might be a hound/cattle dog mix, but we're not entirely sure. He's not a big barker and has a lower energy level, making him a truly unique find if those are indeed his breeds!

Grover is currently completing his heartworm treatment and will be ready to travel to his forever home in July. He is an exceptionally easygoing and loving companion. Whoever adopts Grover will be incredibly lucky – he's impossible not to adore!

Ideal Home

Grover would love a home that offers plenty of affection and a soft place to sleep. He enjoys having a devoted canine companion by his side and would thrive with people who appreciate his gentle nature.

Ongoing Health

Grover is currently finishing up his heartworm treatment. He is fully vaccinated, on preventative, microchipped, and neutered.

Training & Support

Grover is fully house-trained and has excellent house manners. He is not destructive and is well-behaved off-leash. He can be a little shy at first but quickly warms up.
