Rex

Rex is a handsome shepherd mix, likely around six years old, who was rescued from the streets of Houston, Texas. He was found lying in the heat, seemingly waiting, perhaps for help or for owners who had unfortunately abandoned him. Despite this, he remembered his people and jumped into a car with strangers, an act of trust that led him to our rescue. Rex is a grown dog with a strong personality, showing dominance without seeking conflict. He can be initially cautious and may growl to set boundaries, but he is responsive to kindness and will lean in for pets when he feels comfortable. He is clearly grieving the loss of his former owners, showing confusion and a longing for connection. Rex needs a patient and experienced adopter who understands his shepherd nature and strong character, and who can help him learn to trust again.
