JJ Ryder is a 4-year-old, 75 lb, athletic, and loyal dog who is ready for any adventure, big or small. He loves long hikes, playing fetch, swimming, and boat rides, and he's always excited when it's time to go. After a day of fun, JJ is happy to relax and snuggle on the couch. He's a smart and calm dog who bonds deeply with his person and responds well to structure and calm leadership. JJ has already mastered several commands and is gentle-lead trained and reliable with recall. He's generally unfazed by loud noises like trucks, motorcycles, thunder, and fireworks, and he will alert you to new people or dogs before settling down. JJ is fully potty and crate trained, and he can be trusted to free-roam in the house without any issues. He's respectful of personal space, not destructive, doesn't resource guard, and sleeps soundly through the night. JJ is affectionate without being overly demanding and loyal without being clingy – he's truly a great companion.

Ideal Home

JJ would do well in an adult-only home or one with calm older teens. Due to his prey drive, a cat-free home is essential for his well-being.

Training & Support

JJ is a well-behaved dog who is already potty trained and crate trained. He's also gentle-lead trained and knows how to come when called. He thrives with confident leadership and will look to you for guidance.

We provide transport across the US, including to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, and VT, as well as Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA or Brattleboro, VT).
