Bronx

Bronx is a handsome 2-year-old American Bulldog weighing in at 30kg. He arrived at the shelter after being abandoned, and though he was initially nervous, he quickly warmed up and is a true velcro dog who bonds deeply with his people. While he experiences anxiety in the shelter environment, which is being managed with medication, he absolutely shines in a home setting. A volunteer who spent a day with him reported that Bronx was amazing, a homebody who enjoys quiet time and snuggling on the couch. He's responsive to commands, eager to connect, and shows a sweet, affectionate side, often nudging for attention.

Ideal Home

Bronx would thrive in a quiet home with plenty of space for him to explore. He's the perfect companion for someone who enjoys relaxing at home.

Ongoing Health

Bronx has some skin issues that the vet suspects is an allergic skin disease. He is currently being treated with medication, special shampoos, a hypoallergenic diet, and Apoquel. He is also on anxiety medication for shelter stress. While his skin is improving, this will likely require ongoing monitoring and/or treatment.

Training & Support

Bronx responded well to commands when he felt comfortable and was eager to connect. Continued positive reinforcement and patience as he settles into a new home will help him continue to build confidence.
