Keeper Located in Connecticut

Meet Keeper, a handsome German Shepherd/Malinois mix who is patiently waiting for his forever teammate. Keeper is a smart and sensitive boy who likes to observe new situations before diving in. Once he feels comfortable and knows you're on his side, his true, loyal, and gentle nature shines through. He came to us when his elderly owner could no longer care for him, and through no fault of his own, his world was turned upside down. Now, he's dreaming of a second chance with a loving person or family.

During his evaluation, Keeper walked beautifully on a leash and showed no signs of resource guarding. He remained calm around small dogs in nearby kennels, demonstrating no aggression or reactivity. While quick movements initially startled him, he was quick to recover, showing his resilience and desire to trust. He has a strong food drive and enjoys learning, making him a fantastic candidate for continued training and confidence-building.

Ideal Home

Keeper would thrive in an active and experienced home where he can continue to build his confidence. He needs a patient adopter who understands his initial reserved nature and is willing to let him warm up at his own pace.

Ongoing Health

All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and a 6-month subscription.

Training & Support

Keeper enjoys learning and has a solid food drive, which will be a great asset in his ongoing training. He will benefit from an adopter who can continue to build his confidence through positive reinforcement.

Transportation

Keeper is located in Connecticut. If you are within 4 hours of the pet, please be prepared to pick the pet up. We provide transport assistance up to 350 miles, with the applicant driving the remainder of the distance.
