Hello Everybody! My name is Mika, and I'm a Dalmatian mix with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging! I'm a bit of a larger girl, weighing in around 55-57 pounds, and while I could stand to lose a couple of pounds, the food here is delicious, and the treats are even better! I'm not sure what my mix is, but I have dewclaws on my back feet and a little bit of an undercoat, so maybe a Great Pyrenees or a large hound? I've been getting along wonderfully with my foster sisters and even a boy dog who was fostering with me for a while. When meeting new dogs, I can be a little bold and rowdy, so slow introductions are key. Once I trust you, I'm ready to play all day long! I do like to set the rules among the four-legged members of the household, especially when it comes to sharing the water bowl, my personal space, or my favorite bone. My foster mom is working with me on this, and I'm learning to be more considerate, especially around meal times and treat distribution. While I haven't been around cats or kids, I do a great job of leaving the resident house bunnies alone (except for the occasional "berry" snack!). I absolutely love to be with my person and follow them everywhere. I'm working on not climbing into laps or jumping up, but I'm a very good girl and can stay in my own room when my person leaves the house. I'm also comfortable lounging in my crate. I have excellent potty habits and haven't had any accidents in a long time. I'm looking for a home where I can be the only dog or have one or two more submissive canine companions. A play buddy would be nice, but I don't think the dog park is for me.
Ideal Home
I would love a home where I am either an only dog or have one or two more submissive buddies. A play buddy would be nice, but I don't think I would like the dog park.
Ongoing Health
I am spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
I can be a bit bold and rowdy when meeting new dogs, so slow introductions are required. I have opinions about sharing resources like food bowls, my space, and toys, and my new parents will need to continue working on this with me. I am also working on not jumping on my person and climbing into their lap.
