Meet Vanna, an approximately 4-year-old German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her personality! She's a playful, affectionate, and incredibly loyal companion who loves to be by your side, earning her the nickname "velcro dog." Whether you're relaxing at home or embarking on an adventure, Vanna is happiest when she's with her favorite humans. She has medium energy levels and would thrive in an active household, enjoying games of fetch and leisurely walks. Vanna is also a great car rider, making her the perfect co-pilot for any outing. She's been trusted to roam freely indoors and is not destructive, content to simply be near her people.
Ideal Home
Vanna would do best as the only dog in the home. While she can be playful with very well-matched, larger dogs (around 90 lbs or more) if there are no resources to guard, she's not a fan of smaller dogs. She can sometimes be reactive on leash depending on how other dogs behave, so continued leash training will be important. Vanna is initially reserved with strangers but warms up to become friendly. She may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space and boundaries.
Ongoing Health
Vanna is spayed and vaccinated. She is still working through some challenges and has experienced significant trauma. She has some resource guarding issues with food, toys, and people.
Training & Support
Vanna needs continued support with leash manners and is still polishing up her potty training, with occasional accidents. She is crate trained. With patience, consistency, and understanding, Vanna has tremendous potential to continue growing into her best self.

- Please note that transports run every few weeks, and we will schedule your dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time, please apply at that time.
- We are a volunteer-run rescue dedicated to these dogs. If you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply.
- If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please ensure they are on board before applying.
Transporation
Vanna is currently located in our care. Once approved, she can be transported to you on our next available transport.
