Delilah

Delilah is a very sweet and lovable 7-year-old Chihuahua mix who was underweight when she came to rescue but is now thriving! She is blind, a condition that developed recently, and she is learning to navigate her surroundings. Delilah walks tentatively indoors but seems more confident outdoors, and she can find her way back into the house. Inside, she is very calm and loves to snuggle up with you. She can be a little nervous when picked up, but she is always sweet and never aggressive. Delilah is working on her housebreaking, using the potty outside and piddle pads, though she still has occasional accidents. She is very attached to her mother, Mwanna, and would love to find a home where they can stay together.

Ideal Home

Delilah would do best in a home with older children and a physical fence. She has no known history with cats.

Ongoing Health

Delilah is blind, but she is adapting well and seems to perceive light and shadows.

Training & Support

Delilah is currently working on housebreaking and may have occasional accidents. Patience and a consistent routine will help her succeed.

Transportation

We showcase some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart in Utica on Saturdays between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. If you are interested in meeting Delilah, please contact us to confirm her attendance. We can also arrange for pre-approved adopters to meet pets by appointment.
