Meet Mo!
Mo is a soulful, six-year-old Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix with a gentle heart and a beautiful tricolor coat. At 75 pounds, he's a big boy who still thinks he's a lapdog and loves to snuggle close to his favorite people. Mo is calm and low-energy indoors, and once he feels safe, he bonds deeply and becomes a loyal shadow. He's house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands. His favorite activity is snuggling up for quiet evenings on the couch. Unfortunately, the hustle and bustle of city living have become too much for Mo, making him anxious and reactive during walks. He dreams of a peaceful setting where he can truly relax and thrive.
Ideal Home
Mo would thrive in a calm, structured environment in a quiet rural or suburban area with a securely fenced yard. He needs to be the only pet in the home, as he has a strong prey drive and unfamiliar animals can stress him out. He would also do best in a home without cats or frequent visitors. A guardian experienced with anxiety or reactivity in dogs, who uses positive reinforcement and has plenty of patience, will help Mo rebuild his confidence. Consistency, gentle companionship, and someone who works from home or has a predictable routine are ideal.
Ongoing Health
Mo has a mild allergy to poultry and needs to avoid it. He also has mild arthritis in his hind legs, but this doesn't stop him from enjoying cuddles. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Mo is house-trained and crate-trained and knows basic commands. He can become anxious and reactive in noisy or unpredictable environments. Patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement will be key to helping him feel secure.
