Duque is a handsome 4-year-old English Shepherd mix, weighing about 42 lbs, with a striking black and white coat and long, thick fur. He's a friendly and loving boy who adapts quickly to new people and environments. Duque is already potty and leash trained, making him a great companion. He absolutely adores receiving pets and spending quality time with his family. Walks and staying active are some of his favorite things to do! Duque is a well-balanced dog who is looking for a forever home where he can continue to receive affection, companionship, and enjoy daily adventures.
Ideal Home
Duque would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. He would do best with experienced owners who have a background in dog behavior and training, or who are willing to hire a trainer to help him succeed. A home with a high tolerance and patience for rescued animals is essential.
Ongoing Health
Duque has undergone a comprehensive health protocol, including: spay/neuter, 2 DHPPI vaccines, rabies vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX test, a negative heartworm test, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventative for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. He also has a health certificate and vaccine booklet. Please note that some rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past experiences.
Training & Support
While Duque is potty and leash trained, it is important to understand that many rescued pets may not be fully house-trained. Patience and understanding are crucial as he adjusts to his new environment. Providing a safe and loving space, establishing a routine, and offering clear boundaries will help him feel secure.

- Upon approval, you will sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which covers vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and food.
Transportation
Duque is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. He is available for transport to the East Coast on our next scheduled cross-country trip. Transportation is door-to-door and includes a fee of $400 USD. Our transportation process involves a contracted company from Montana that sends a team to Mexico to collect adopted pets. For US adoptions, pets will cross the border into Texas. For Canadian adoptions, pets will be delivered to the nearest US-Canada border. You will receive real-time updates throughout the journey in a private Facebook Messenger group, and the transport team will conduct a final home review upon delivery.
