Meet Abraham Darby, a delightful puppy with a name as charming as his personality! Abraham Darby and his brothers Mr Lincoln, Rambling, Pierre De Ronsard, and David Austin and sisters Gertrude and Olivia Austin are named after varieties of beautiful roses. These sweet, friendly, and goofy pups embody the spirit of playfulness and gentleness. Their smart and funny antics will keep you entertained and smiling all day long. They are eager to share their love and joy with a forever family who appreciates a loyal and playful companion. They are friendly with everyone they meet, including kids, dogs, and even cats – in a curious and playful way. They have attended events in the park as well as yoga classes!

Ongoing Health

This puppy was born to a mother dog who was positive for heartworm disease. While microfilariae can be transmitted to puppies, they do not develop into adult heartworms without a mosquito. Microfilariae can live up to two years but should be eliminated with heartworm preventative. Abraham Darby has been given heartworm preventative regularly, but for continued protection and to minimize risk to other dogs, we recommend keeping him on Advantage Multi or Parasedge (imidacloprid + moxidectin) for at least the first three months after adoption. This product also protects against fleas, but a separate tick preventative (oral) should be used.

Training & Support

Being just a puppy, Abraham Darby has much to learn! He will need house training, crate training, and will need to learn to walk on a leash. We strongly recommend obedience classes for all our dogs, as this is a great way to learn commands together, build confidence, and socialize.
