Awooo! I'm Rooster! I'm a young, playful, smarty pants looking for a compassionate home to call my own! I came to Animal Aid after being trapped as a stray. I'm working through some anxiety as I learn to live in a home environment, but I've already proven myself to be great with dogs and cats after a slow intro. Men can be a bit intimidating to me, but as long as you're patient, anyone is welcome to be my new BFF. The ladies just make me feel safer. If you're lucky (many are), I will be crawling into your lap and kissing your face in no time. I like to come to you at my own pace, so once I know you're not a threat, it's so exciting to shower you in love and affection. Snuggling is the best! I also do well in the car and enjoy sniffing around new environments. My life has definitely been filled with stress for quite some time, but I'm so excited to learn the joys of stability, consistency, and lots of love and pets.
Ideal Home
A quieter environment is ideal for me. Because I came from the streets, you'll need to be extra careful about keeping me secure and confined to your property while I settle in.
Ongoing Health
I may need to stay on anxiety meds for a bit while I fully decompress into my happily ever after.
Training & Support
Sudden loud noises are still pretty scary for me. Sometimes I bark at other people and dogs while on leash if they freak me out, but I'm not trying to be mean. I'm currently working on potty training and doing quite well. I already know how to sit and shake hands, so I'd be more than happy to learn all the new skills you think I might need to live a great life with you!
