Gina is a 1-year-old spayed female Belgian Malinois mix, weighing 56lbs. She was found abandoned as a tiny puppy, sleeping in a cardboard box by a busy road. Despite her rough start, Gina is now in a loving foster home and ready to find her forever family. She's a smart, playful, and toy-loving pup who enjoys the company of other dogs. Gina can be a little apprehensive of unfamiliar dogs, especially larger ones, due to a past attack. She gets along well with small dogs (under 15 lbs) and large dogs (over 75 lbs) in her foster home, but introductions should be slow and mindful. Gina is a bit too enthusiastic about neighborhood kitties, so a cat-free home is recommended. She hasn't been around children, but given her jumpiness and exuberance, a home with older (10+) dog-savvy children would be ideal.
Ideal Home
Gina would thrive in an active home with someone who can provide daily play and enrichment. She'd do well with older, dog-savvy children (10+), a couple, or someone living alone. A home with another dog is recommended to keep her company and help burn off her puppy energy. A cat-free home is preferred.
Ongoing Health
Gina is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Gina is house and crate trained and can be crated for up to 8 hours. She walks well on a leash and shows no signs of separation anxiety. Gina does prefer to eat her treats alone and is in the "puppy velociraptor stage," so she'll need guidance on appropriate chew toys. She is learning fetch but can also entertain herself with her toys, which she loves to collect and keep in her bed. Adopters should be prepared to provide regular socialization and positive training to help her grow into a well-mannered adult.
