Meet Darcy, an adorable 3-year-old Chihuahua who is curious, cuddly, and perfectly housetrained. She's a delightful 12 lb package just waiting for her forever family! Darcy was rescued as a stray in California and made her way to Seattle in search of a new home. She quickly settled into her foster home, proving to be housetrained, stair-savvy, and completely at ease indoors.
Darcy gets along wonderfully with her two foster brothers, both small dogs, but she would also be content as an only dog as long as she has ample opportunities to socialize. She truly enjoys visits to the dog park!
Ideal Home
Darcy's two favorite things are going for walks and playtime. She walks on leash like a dream, straight as an arrow, and is very happy to go out a couple of times a day. However, she can be startled by loud noises, so she's looking for a quieter home environment, ideally a standalone house outside of the city for a more peaceful setting. Apartment or condo living would not be a good fit due to her sensitivity to noise. She adores squeaky stuffed toys, especially her Lambchop, and enjoys nose work puzzles. An adopter who enjoys interactive play and can keep her body and mind engaged will be a great match. Darcy is clever and can easily slip out an open door, so an attentive adopter committed to her safety is essential. A securely fenced yard is a must for this adventurous girl. While she enjoys the company of other small dogs, she also wouldn't mind being an only pup.
Ongoing Health
Darcy is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.
Training & Support
Darcy is a curious and adventurous girl who loves to explore. She is a "Girl Boss" and initially challenged her foster brothers, but they quickly established a pecking order, and now they get along great, cuddling and playing together. While she prefers not to sleep in bed with her humans, she's happy to cuddle under a cozy blanket in the living room.
