Lucy is a charming 5-year-old, 31 lb Australian Cattle Dog who's ready to trade her chain for a comfy spot by your side. She was surrendered to us when her previous owner could no longer care for her, but thankfully, they allowed us to spay her before she came to live with us. Lucy has since blossomed in a foster home with 8 other dogs, learning the joys of being loved and included. She’s a smaller-sized Blue Heeler with a heart of gold. Loyal, smart, and observant, Lucy can be a little bossy with some dogs, but overall, she's pretty mellow and easy-going. She's a champion at fetch and has so far ignored the cats in her foster home. While she's generally playful with other dogs, she might give a little nibble to their heels if she doesn't like them – classic Heeler! She can be a bit quirky around small dogs, but she walks nicely in public and is a great car rider.

Lucy is spayed, microchipped, healthy, and up to date on all her vaccines and preventions.
Training & Support
Lucy is potty trained, crate trained (though she prefers to be near you), and leash trained. She loves affection but isn't needy. She can be timid with new people and needs a little time to warm up. Her typical Heeler behaviors include supervising everyone, following her people from room to room, and giving dramatic side-eye when judging your life choices – all included at no extra charge!

- Kind Spirits is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue based in Texas. We pull dogs from kill shelters, owner surrenders, street abandonments, and neglect cases. We provide them with basic training and behavior valuation and help them find loving homes.
Transporation
Lucy is currently in Texas. Out-of-state adopters are welcome! Private transport with K9 Delivery LLC can be arranged for an additional $200, which includes a health certificate, vet exam, and transportation to your area.
