Hutch is a sensitive and incredibly sweet boy who has truly captured our hearts. At just six months old, he endured a traumatic beginning when his former owners abandoned him in an empty house. A compassionate police officer found him whimpering and, along with his colleagues, ensured Hutch was safe. Unfortunately, due to shelter limitations, Hutch eventually ended up at a city shelter. There, he developed a cough and was at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully, a dedicated staff member intervened, moving him to another shelter. Even then, he faced time running out, but he was hidden by staff who had grown to love him. When his situation was discovered, he was once again at risk, but we stepped in to give this deserving angel the chance he's fought so hard for. Hutch loves dogs and is good with cats. He is fully vetted and trained, and does well with children aged nine and up.
Ideal Home
Hutch thrives on routine and stability, as he dislikes change. He would be happiest in a calm home with a fenced yard large enough for games of fetch and romping. A loving and stable environment where his needs are respected and he always feels safe and cherished is essential. He would not do well in a home with frequent visitors or a "party" atmosphere.
Ongoing Health
Hutch is fully vetted.
Training & Support
Hutch is a well-mannered and smart boy who enjoys playing fetch and is great both on and off leash. While he is generally good with other dogs, a meet-and-greet is recommended. Strangers and change can make Hutch reactive due to his past experiences. However, with his favorite toy and a few treats, he warms up to new people quickly, usually within three minutes.
