About Slater

Hi everyone! I’m Slater, but my OCPBR family calls me Nugget. I was being given away when I was barely two weeks old, and just a wee nugget. Lucky for me, OCPBR scooped me up and has shown me how wonderful life can be. I’m now 3 years old and have been the luckiest pup with my foster homes. I have lots of foster siblings in my current home and get to go camping and on adventures often. I’m super energetic (but I also know how to chill) and need someone who’s going to play with me, so a home with a senior dog would not be the best fit for me. I am a silly, fun, young dog, but I do not like being hugged or restrained, so a home with children under the age of 10 isn’t a good fit for me. I do however LOVE to cuddle and I think I’m a lapdog. I really like all dogs, but small dogs are my favorite. I am crate trained and house trained, walk great on a leash, know some basic obedience commands and am working on learning more.

Ideal Home

A home with someone who can play with me and give me lots of attention. A home with a senior dog would not be the best fit for me. A home with children under the age of 10 is not a good fit for me as I do not like being hugged or restrained.

Ongoing Health

I have a unique health issue… my second kidney never grew. So, because of this, I have to eat a special low protein diet and my treats are vegetarian. OCPBR has already paid for all of the tests.

Training & Support

I am crate trained and house trained, walk great on a leash, know some basic obedience commands and am working on learning more.
