About Nina!

Nina is a darling little terrier mix, estimated to be born in March 2020 and weighing around 20 lbs. She's a sweet dog who loves her humans, but on her own terms! Nina prefers to show affection from a comfortable distance rather than being overly cuddly. While she enjoys a gentle pat or short petting session, she can get overwhelmed if affection is too insistent. She's not a fan of being picked up and is accustomed to using steps to get into taller vehicles.

Nina absolutely adores other dogs and loves to romp, wrestle, and play chase in a secure, fenced yard. She enjoys being outdoors and exploring while her people are around. Treats and bully sticks are a big hit, though she hasn't quite figured out how to play with toys yet. She can be a bit shy and timid in new situations or with new people, but with slow, gentle introductions and treats, she warms up. Patience and understanding are key to helping this shy girl gain confidence. Once comfortable, Nina is happy, silly, and playful, often choosing to rest on the floor or a dog bed nearby rather than jumping on furniture.

Ideal Home

Nina would thrive in a home with a secure, fenced yard and at least one confident, social, and playful companion dog. She needs an adult-only home as children would likely overwhelm her. She's an alert barker, so apartments are not a good fit. She also wouldn't do well being left alone for long hours.

Ongoing Health

No specific health conditions were mentioned in the listing.

Training & Support

Nina is crate trained and housebroken in her foster home. She is respectful of resident cats but may chase shy ones if they run. She walks politely on a leash and comes when called once comfortable with her people.
