Elmo

Elmo is a 10-month-old Great Pyrenees mix who came to us after a difficult experience. He was shot in the hip, and the bullet is lodged near his spine. Thankfully, it has become encapsulated and specialists have determined that removing it would be riskier than leaving it be. This medical history does not define Elmo's future; he is healthy, comfortable, and expected to live a long and happy life!

Ideal Home

Elmo would do best in a home that understands he doesn't need to be an adventure athlete to be a wonderful companion. While he enjoys his walks and playtime, extreme sports like leaping from high places are not recommended for him in the immediate future. He is good with other dogs and loves people. He has shown some mild interest in cats, so dog-savvy felines would likely be fine. Due to his medical needs, we recommend children over 10 years old or sturdy kids who can understand Elmo is not a pony.

Ongoing Health

The bullet lodged near Elmo's spine has become encapsulated and does not require removal. He is otherwise healthy and comfortable.

Training & Support

Elmo is a young dog who will grow into a large adult. He appreciates a comfortable dog bed where he can fully relax. He is described as sweet, resilient, and quietly brave, greeting the world with trust and calm.

Transporation

Elmo is currently located at our rescue. Transportation may be available to approved adopters.
