Meeka - Resilient Ball Player!

Meeka is a gorgeous, petite German Shepherd girl who weighs about 53lbs. She has incredibly soft fur and beautiful brown eyes. At 5-6 years old, she has so much love and companionship left to give!

Meeka came to us as an owner surrender from a family who no longer had time for her. She can experience anxiety, especially when going through changes, and will sometimes turn in circles and bark. This behavior is easily and quickly redirected by throwing a ball for her or giving her a favorite stuffed animal. Most of the time, Meeka is an exceptionally calm dog with low to medium energy, except when she’s playing FETCH – her very favorite game! Recently, she had a wonderful time playing soccer with some local high school volunteers. Meeka is sweet and friendly with everyone she meets. She is incredibly loyal, comforting, and loves to stay close, often cuddling on the couch. She is also extremely gentle, even taking treats from your fingers with the utmost care. Meeka is wonderful and non-reactive with all other dogs! She walks well on a leash and enjoys car rides. While we haven't tested her with cats, she doesn't seem to have a strong prey drive, so she may do well with them with some gentle guidance.

Ideal Home

Meeka thrives on companionship and loves to be close to her people. She would do well in a home where she can be a cherished member of the family.

Ongoing Health

Meeka is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Meeka is house-trained and does not need a crate. While she can experience anxiety, it's easily managed by redirecting her with play. She enjoys being pampered and groomed.

Transportation

Meeka is currently being fostered in TX. She can be transported via AJC Rescue & Transport to a location near you. Transport occurs once a month. The adoption fee is $300, plus $30 for a health certificate and $260 for transport.
