Meet Skipper! If you're searching for a spirited, athletic canine companion to keep up with your active lifestyle, Skipper is your girl! She's been with us for over two years, making her one of our cherished long-term residents. Skipper arrived with an injury to her front leg, which unfortunately required amputation. However, she has made a full recovery and has blossomed into a dog with a wonderfully developed personality, especially for those she trusts.
Skipper is a striking black and white pup and, as you can see, a tripod. Her absolute favorite activity is playing fetch. If you need a furry friend to entertain you, Skipper is always ready! She can play fetch for extended periods, making her the perfect match for any baseball or softball enthusiast. Once she's had her fill of playtime, Skipper reveals her affectionate side and loves to snuggle up close with her people.
Skipper is working on her basic commands, including sit, down, and leave it. She's still learning leash manners but excels when using a head halter. She responds well to commands and is easily redirected with treats when she pulls. Skipper is not a fan of other dogs or cats and would be happiest as the sole pet in the household. It may take her a little time to warm up to new people, but a few treats and a ball should quickly win her over. Despite past human betrayals, once Skipper trusts you, it's game on, and you'll find yourself unable to resist throwing her ball again and again!
