Meet Rusty – Your Future Best Friend!

Rusty has truly blossomed into an amazing dog and is ready to find his forever family! This sweet boy loves two things most: exploring the outdoors and snuggling with his people. He has been making great progress on leash walks and enjoys getting outside to investigate the world around him. Sometimes new situations can still make him a little nervous, but his confidence grows every day. When he's not outside, Rusty is happiest curled up next to his family, soaking up all the love and affection he can get. He may be shy when meeting new people, but once he gets to know you, he becomes a loyal, loving companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side.

Ideal Home

Rusty is looking for a patient, understanding family who will continue helping him build confidence while giving him plenty of opportunities to explore, play, and cuddle. He does well with children who understand that he does not like to be chased. Being chased makes him nervous, and he'll usually hide when he feels overwhelmed. He prefers to approach people on his own terms.

Ongoing Health

Rusty only has accidents when he's feeling scared or stressed, and he continues to make great progress.

Training & Support

Rusty is mostly house-trained and crate-trained. He is learning social boundaries and improving all the time.
