About Lilly
Meet Lilly, your new adventure buddy, couch companion, and loyal shadow all in one! Lilly is a 7-year-old spayed female Labrador Retriever mix, weighing in at a perfect 45 lbs. She was on the euthanasia list at a crowded Houston shelter simply due to lack of space, but thankfully, her amazing foster mom stepped up just in time. Lilly has been showing her gratitude with tail wags, kisses, and love ever since. Don't let her age fool you – Lilly still has plenty of pep in her step and absolutely lives for playtime! She's a big fan of tug-of-war with rope toys, chasing balls in the yard, and going on long, sniff-filled walks. If you're looking for a dog to join you on outdoor adventures and then snuggle up for a cozy movie night, Lilly is your girl. She's a beautiful mix of independent and affectionate, happy to explore and follow her nose, but always eager to be near her people. Her foster family describes her as curious, loyal, sweet, and a certified cuddle bug. She's been lovingly nicknamed a "velcro dog" thanks to how closely she likes to stick by her humans. Lilly lives with another dog in her foster home and does well with canine companions, though her true joy comes from human interaction. She'll happily greet you with kisses and tail wags – and she even offers those kisses to other dogs she meets on walks. She's also cat-experienced and has shown she can be redirected when her interest in the resident feline gets a little too intense. While she hasn't been tested with children, her loving nature and gentle demeanor suggest she'd likely do well with respectful older kids. Lilly is both crate-trained and potty-trained, and she's incredibly polite in the home – she'll even tap the door to let you know when she needs to go out. She does best when fed separately from other dogs, as she prefers to keep her meals to herself, but has no issues with people near her food.
Ideal Home
Lilly would thrive in a moderately active home with access to the outdoors and humans who are around often because nothing makes Lilly happier than being your loyal shadow. Whether you have another pup or she's your one-and-only, she'll thrive in a home where she's included in your daily rhythm and given plenty of time to play, explore, and snuggle.
